Comfortable, Safe Care for Every Procedure

Your safety and comfort are our top priorities. To help ensure a calm and pain-free experience, we offer multiple anesthesia options customized to your treatment needs. These include:

  • General Anesthesia
  • IV Sedation (deep and moderate sedation)
  • Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas)
  • Local Anesthesia

We also offer additional measures to help ease nervousness and anxiety before and during your treatment.

Specialized Training in Surgical Anesthesia

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons undergo dedicated anesthesia training during their residency, including extensive hospital-based experience. This prepares them to administer anesthesia safely for procedures ranging from minor outpatient treatments to major surgeries.

Rigorous Credentialing and Continuing Education

Oral surgeons maintain their anesthesia credentials through ongoing evaluations by the state board, including in-office assessments. During these evaluations, an examiner:

  • Observes an actual surgical procedure performed under general anesthesia.
  • Inspects all anesthesia monitoring and emergency equipment.
  • Tests the surgeon and surgical team on their preparedness for anesthesia-related emergencies.

Additionally, oral and maxillofacial surgeons who are board-certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) and members of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) complete ongoing education to ensure continued proficiency, safety, and excellence in patient care.
