Healthy gum tissue is essential for protecting teeth, dental implants, and the supporting bone beneath. In some situations, patients may benefit from a soft tissue graft to reinforce areas where the gum has thinned or receded.
At Longmont Oral, Facial & Implant Surgery, our surgeons provide select soft tissue procedures when appropriate as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. These procedures may be recommended to:
- Cover exposed tooth roots or implant.
- Increase the thickness of gum tissue around teeth or implants.
- Support long-term oral health following other surgical procedures.
While we do not perform the full range of periodontal surgery, our training and experience in oral and implant surgery allow us to offer targeted soft tissue grafting when it supports a patient’s overall treatment goals.
In many cases, platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and other biologics may also be used to enhance healing and outcomes during grafting procedures.
Every patient’s situation is unique. We take the time to evaluate your needs, explain your options, and recommend the best path forward in a way that feels comfortable and understandable.
